However, with the support of her partner Henry Cable, she showed determination and courage. They were part of the first group of settlers to marry in the new colony. She also won the first civil legal case to be brought against a ship’s captain, which is where the term ‘fair go’ is said to have stemmed from. She was one of the founding mothers of Australia and her story deserves to be heard.
