The Hungarian physician, Ignaz Semmelweis, is known as the ‘saviour of mothers’ and the ‘father of infection control’. His statistical analysis of the results of infection, would change the way antiseptic procedures were carried out. Today, we have much to be grateful for, when we need medical attention.

Antoine Lavoisier
